Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 2026

This policy explains what information Movopia (formerly 3FG and Athlyca) collects through the Movopia mobile app and this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. In short: we collect what the app needs to work, we do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Information you give us

Account details. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and username. You can add profile details such as your date of birth, gender, photo, bio, and city. Date of birth is currently optional. Your city and selected sports are needed to join or host games. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider, WorkOS.

Sports profile. The sports you play and the skill details, fitness level, exercise frequency, running pace, and playing and training preferences you choose to provide, so we can match you with relevant games and players.

Content you create. Games you host or join, club activity, ratings, sports partner preferences, friend connections, reports, and the messages, photos, PDF files, and locations you share in chat.

Venue searches. We process the search terms and area you choose to find places to play. We send these to place providers, including the OpenStreetMap Overpass API, and cache search terms with rounded coordinates for up to one hour to reuse results.

Information collected automatically

Location. With your permission, we use your device's precise location while you are using the app to show nearby games, courts, and sports partners. We also store the location you choose for partner discovery. You can choose to share your current location with other people in chat. Our analytics providers derive approximate location from your IP address, which does not require device location permission. We do not collect location in the background.

Device and usage data. We collect a push notification token so we can send you notifications, and we use Google Firebase and PostHog to collect analytics events (how the app is used) and Google Firebase to collect crash reports. These are associated with your account id so we can debug problems and improve the app; PostHog receives the account id only, never your name or email, and stores its data in the European Union.

How you found us. On Android, we use the Google Play install referrer to identify which link or campaign brought you to Movopia. If that information is unavailable, our link service may match a recent link visit to the first app launch using a coarse, hashed key made from part of your IP address and your OS version. The link service keeps that key for up to 15 minutes; the account attribution record keeps the link and campaign, not the IP address or key. The iOS app does not perform this fingerprint-based matching or send fingerprint-based install attribution. We use attribution to understand which of our posters and posts lead to installs, not to identify you across other companies' apps or websites.

Email updates. If you leave your email on this website, for example to hear when the Android app launches, we store the address you submit and the page you submitted it from, and use it only to contact you about Movopia.

How we use your information

We use this information to run Movopia: showing you nearby games and players, powering chat and notifications, keeping the community safe (handling reports and blocks), fixing crashes, improving features, and responding to support requests. We do not sell your information and we do not show third-party ads.

What other users see

Your profile (name, username, photo, bio, sports) is visible to other users, and content you post (games, club activity, chat messages, ratings) is visible to the people those features share it with, such as players in the same game or members of the same conversation.

Service providers

We share data with the providers that run parts of the service for us: WorkOS (sign-in), Google Firebase (push notifications, analytics, and crash reporting), PostHog (product analytics), Microsoft Azure (server diagnostics and hosting), the OpenStreetMap Overpass API (venue search), and our other cloud hosting providers. They process data only to provide these services. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Retention and deleting your account

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app under Settings. Deleting your account removes your account details (name, email, phone, photo, profile details) and signs you out everywhere. Past games and messages in shared conversations can remain and display your profile as a deleted user. Some retained records, including service diagnostics and analytics, can still carry an old account identifier. Account deletion does not automatically erase these records; contact us to request deletion of retained personal data. You can also email support@movopia.com to request deletion, or to have your email removed from our update list. The account deletion page lists the steps and exactly what is removed and what is kept.

Children

Movopia is intended only for adults aged 18 and over. People under 18 may not create an account or use the service. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account, contact us so we can investigate and remove the account and its personal information.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information with industry-standard measures.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the current version on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or by email.
